FAQ

Straight answers for organising your renovation

Pocketa is in early release as a renovation organisation and sourcing platform.

These answers explain what signed-in users can do today, what this public site is for and what is still being improved.

The workspace includes projects, checklists and sourcing. There is no checkout or supplier self-service yet.

About Pocketa

  • What is Pocketa?

Pocketa is a kitchen renovation organisation and sourcing platform. Plan it. Source it. Build it. Signed-in homeowners can create a project record, use checklists, browse catalogue categories, save items, follow supplier checkout links or request quotes where offered, and keep notes in one place.

  • Who is Pocketa for?

Pocketa is being shaped for homeowners, renovators, landlords, small developers and future supplier partners who want a clearer way to organise kitchen renovation products, purchases and project records.

  • How does Pocketa work?

You create a kitchen project in the workspace, answer practical setup questions and work from a checklist and sourcing views that grow with your project. The public site explains the direction; signed-in users use the live workspace for projects, checklists and records.

  • Is Pocketa a kitchen designer?

No. Pocketa is not a kitchen designer. It is intended to support organisation, sourcing and project records. Design choices and specialist requirements should be confirmed with the right professionals.

  • Is Pocketa a builder or installer?

No. Pocketa is not a builder, installer, electrician, gas engineer, plumber or surveyor. It does not replace qualified trades or specialist checks.

  • Why start with kitchen renovation?

Kitchen renovation often involves many connected products, suppliers, fittings, notes, receipts and decisions. That makes it a strong starting point for a project organisation and sourcing tool.

  • Why does Pocketa use illustrations across the site?

We use custom illustrations rather than showroom photography so the site can explain planning ideas clearly without looking like one fixed kitchen design or supplier range. Illustrations keep the focus on organisation, checklists and sourcing, not on implying that your project should match a single image. They also stay consistent across pages, load quickly and feel approachable when you are working through a long renovation. Your own plans, photos and supplier images belong in your saved project; the site art is there to support the process.

Early build

  • Is Pocketa live yet?

Pocketa is in early release for signed-in homeowners. You can create projects, use your checklist, browse sourcing by category, save products where listed, follow supplier checkout links or request quotes where offered, record purchases made elsewhere and keep notes in one workspace. The catalogue is still growing. Pocketa does not take payment or offer in-app checkout. There is no supplier self-service portal yet.

  • Can I create a real saved project today?

Yes. Sign up or log in, then create a project from your workspace. The Start your project page on this site is a public preview of the setup journey; the live flow is in the app.

  • Where do I sign in to my workspace?

Use Sign in in the site header to open your workspace. After you are signed in, your projects, checklists and sourcing views live under the workspace, not on this marketing site alone.

  • Can I join early access?

Yes. The early access page explains how interested users can follow the platform direction and share the kind of support they would find useful.

  • Why does the site show product and checklist features if they are still being built?

Some pages preview structure for visitors who are not signed in. Signed-in users can use live projects, checklists and sourcing in the workspace while we keep improving other areas.

  • Will the website change as Pocketa develops?

Yes. The website may change as the product, user feedback, supplier routes and platform features develop.

Getting started

  • Do I need an account to use Pocketa?

You can read guides, the Project Library and public pages without signing in. To create a saved project, checklist and sourcing record you need a workspace account.

  • What can I do without signing in?

You can explore how Pocketa works, read guides and library articles, preview the setup journey and review FAQ and policy pages. Saving products, editing checklists and keeping a live project record require sign-in.

  • Can I try the planner before I create a project?

Yes. The public planner page is a lightweight way to explore planning prompts before you sign in. Your saved checklist and project record live in the workspace after you create a project.

  • Is Pocketa only for full kitchen replacements?

Pocketa is shaped around kitchen renovation work, including refreshes, partial upgrades and mid-project catch-up, not only a full strip-out. Your checklist and records should reflect the scope you are actually doing.

Checklists and planning

  • What is the Pocketa checklist?

The checklist is intended to help users organise product categories, tasks, notes and records that may apply to a kitchen renovation.

  • Will the checklist be personalised?

The aim is for users to answer a short setup flow so Pocketa can shape a more relevant starting checklist. Users should be able to edit the checklist as their project develops.

  • Will the checklist tell me exactly what I need?

No. Pocketa should help organise commonly considered categories and prompts. It should not be treated as a guarantee that something is required or suitable for a specific property.

  • Can I remove items that do not apply?

Yes. The intended checklist experience should allow users to mark items as not needed, already sorted, still to review or needing further checks.

  • Can I use Pocketa if my renovation has already started?

Yes. Pocketa is being designed so users can join midway through a project, mark what is already sorted and focus on what still needs attention.

  • Can I upload existing renovation plans?

This is planned for future development. The intention is that users may be able to add or upload existing plans, which Pocketa can help translate into a project dashboard. Users should then be able to review and change anything that has been interpreted incorrectly before it is saved.

  • Will Pocketa create a timeline?

A basic project journey and stage view may be part of the platform direction. Deeper timelines and workflow tools can be considered after the first project setup, checklist and dashboard experience.

  • What is the difference between Guides and the Project Library?

Guides at /guides are shorter route pages that match where you are now, such as the planner or checklist overview. The Project Library at /guides/project-library hosts five cornerstone guides plus twenty-four supporting Library guides across six categories on planning, products, sourcing, costs, finishing details and records.

  • Where can I read in depth about kitchen renovation planning?

Open the Pocketa Project Library for cornerstone and supporting guides. Start with the complete planning guide or the renovation stages article if you want a structured read before you build a project checklist, or open a category that matches the topic you are working on.

Products and purchases

  • Will Pocketa sell products?

Pocketa does not offer in-app checkout or take payment. Signed-in users can browse catalogue products where published, follow supplier checkout handoffs on partner sites, request quotes where available, ask for samples or consultation-first journeys where configured, and keep their project record organised, including items bought elsewhere.

  • Do I have to buy through Pocketa?

No. User choice is central to the model. Users should be able to compare prices, buy elsewhere and still keep their project record organised.

  • What does bought elsewhere mean?

Bought elsewhere means you bought or are tracking a product outside Pocketa's catalogue. Log a bought elsewhere record on your project checklist for supplier, link, delivery, status, and text notes for receipts or warranties. It appears on your overview too. While browsing sourcing you can also save a private link to your project; that quick save is separate and is not a full checklist record. Pocketa does not place orders, verify fit or stock, or upload files.

  • Will Pocketa track receipts and warranties?

Receipt and document tracking are part of the platform direction. The details will depend on the build phase and storage setup.

  • Can I request quotes through Pocketa?

Where catalogue or supplier routes support it, signed-in users can request quotes from the workspace. Coverage varies by category and supplier; quote routes do not replace confirming price, lead time and suitability with the supplier.

  • Will Pocketa check if products fit my kitchen?

No. Measurements, fit, compatibility and suitability should be confirmed with the right supplier, fitter or qualified professional before ordering or fitting.

  • Will Pocketa recommend exact products?

Signed-in users can browse sourcing by category and open product pages where Pocketa has published listings. Coverage is still growing. Listings help you compare and organise; they are not endorsements. Confirm fit, stock and suitability with your supplier or fitter before you buy.

  • How much catalogue content is available?

The catalogue is still growing. Pocketa adds listings through internal review with permission-safe data only. You can browse by category where products are published, follow outbound supplier links, request quotes where offered, and add products bought elsewhere to your project.

Suppliers

  • Can suppliers work with Pocketa?

Pocketa is accepting full supplier applications now to grow the curated catalogue. Homeowners may see curated catalogue products and supplier pages where Pocketa has published them. Listings are managed internally. Suitable suppliers should use the full application at For suppliers; review and onboarding stay manual and do not guarantee approval.

  • Are you accepting supplier applications now?

Yes, for curated suppliers, showrooms, quote-led partners, and regional or trade businesses. Submit the full application at For suppliers — we are actively reviewing to grow the catalogue. National retailer partnerships are not handled through this form: Pocketa approaches large retailers directly, each with its own programme terms. Review, contracts and listing remain manual.

  • Can national retailers apply through For suppliers?

Not through the curated supplier application — that route is for Lane B and quote-led partners. National retailers here means major UK household-name or multi-branch retailers that already run their own affiliate or affiliation programme, not any business that simply sells nationally. If that fits and you found Pocketa first, use the partnership enquiry on For suppliers. It opens a dialogue only; category-link terms are agreed founder-led, usually after a call.

  • What seller types can apply?

Select every type that fits your business: local supplier, premium showroom, trade supplier, manufacturer, quote-led supplier, installer with products, or other. Lane choice (Lane B curated catalogue, quote-led, or unsure) helps Pocketa route review. National retailer partnerships are handled separately.

  • What does the supplier application ask for?

The full application walks through business identity, supplier type and lane, product fit, commercial model, optional journey proposals, regional coverage, catalogue or quote details where relevant, fulfilment policies and acknowledgements. Optional sections appear when your answers match mixed routes, quote-led work, samples or appointment-first journeys. Nothing is published automatically from the form.

  • Which commercial models can suppliers select?

You can select more than one commercial model you are interested in: catalogue commission, quote or referral commission, neutral review with no commission, or unsure. Commission varies by kitchen product category where it applies, not one flat rate on every line. Category landing links for large retailers are not part of this application.

  • Who is Pocketa suitable for on the supplier side?

The application is for kitchen showrooms, worktop suppliers, tile and flooring suppliers, lighting suppliers, quote-led and bespoke specialists, regional trade suppliers, and manufacturers. Major national retailers with established affiliate programmes use the separate partnership enquiry on For suppliers, not this application.

  • Does the supplier application guarantee approval?

No. Applying does not guarantee approval, onboarding or placement. Pocketa should remain selective so supplier participation supports the user journey.

  • Will suppliers get a dashboard?

Not yet. Supplier records and catalogue content are managed by the Pocketa team today. A supplier-facing dashboard may be considered later; apply on For suppliers if you want to be reviewed for participation.

  • How might suppliers appear on Pocketa?

Curated Lane B partners may appear through catalogue checkout handoffs, supplier-confirmed or supplier-priced quote journeys, appointment-first consultation routes, optional samples, or referral introductions where content is published. Large national retailers may appear through separate category-link partnerships that Pocketa pursues directly. Nothing is automatic from applying.

Costs and commissions

  • Is Pocketa free for homeowners?

The intended user model is free for homeowners. Users should not need to pay to understand the platform direction, create a project or organise their checklist in the planned early experience.

  • How might Pocketa earn money?

Pocketa may earn modest fees on some partner or affiliate links and on curated supplier or quote routes where agreed. Amounts and terms vary by partner and product category. See Why Pocketa is free for plain language.

  • Will commissions affect what users see?

Pocketa is transparent about commercial relationships and does not rank options by commission. You can compare prices, request quotes where offered, and buy elsewhere.

  • Are commissions always large?

No. Many affiliate-style routes involve modest fees. Curated supplier terms vary by kitchen category and are agreed in writing, not one flat percentage on every line and not a default high marketplace rate.

  • Do suppliers pay the same commission on every product?

Pocketa reviews a limited number of curated suppliers. Where commission applies, rates vary by kitchen product category, not one flat percentage on every line, and we do not default to high marketplace-style fees. We aim to be fair to suppliers and clear for homeowners.

  • What is the cost organiser?

The cost organiser is a public page that explains how Pocketa helps you group cost-related checklist thinking and spending context. It does not replace quotes from suppliers or trades.

  • Does Pocketa guarantee the best price or a perfect kitchen?

No. Renovations involve trade-offs between budget, timing and finish level. Pocketa helps organise your project record and sourcing context; suppliers remain responsible for their prices, listings and delivery, and you remain responsible for choices you make with your fitter and trades where relevant.

  • Does Pocketa give fixed kitchen renovation costs?

No. Kitchen renovation costs vary by scope, layout, products, suppliers, finish level and specialist work. Pocketa can help organise cost related categories, but it should not promise a fixed total cost.

  • Can Pocketa help me track what I spend?

Spend tracking is part of the intended direction. Users should be able to add prices, purchases and outside items to help keep a clearer project record.

Responsibility boundaries

  • Does Pocketa provide renovation advice?

No. Pocketa is being built as an organisation and sourcing platform. It should not be used as professional renovation, design, legal, building, gas, plumbing, electrical or compliance advice.

  • Who should confirm specialist details?

Users should confirm specialist details with the right person. This may include a fitter, electrician, gas engineer, plumber, builder, surveyor, designer, supplier, building control or legal adviser where relevant.

  • Can Pocketa tell me what is compliant?

No. Compliance and regulated requirements should be confirmed with the relevant qualified professional or authority.

  • Can Pocketa replace supplier checks?

No. Suppliers remain responsible for their own product information, pricing, service terms, delivery details, returns and fulfilment where applicable.

  • What should I check before ordering?

Users should confirm measurements, suitability, compatibility, delivery details, return terms and specialist requirements with the right person before ordering or fitting.

Privacy and policies

  • Does Pocketa use cookies?

The cookie policy explains what cookies may be used. Analytics cookies should only be used where appropriate consent is in place.

  • Does Pocketa collect personal information?

The privacy policy explains what information may be collected through the public website, contact routes, supplier applications, the signed-in workspace and related forms.

  • Where can I read the policies?

The footer links to the Privacy policy, Cookie policy, Terms of use and Supplier application terms. Suppliers applying to partner should read the supplier application terms before submitting.

  • Do supplier applications have separate terms?

Yes. Supplier application terms apply when you submit the full application on For suppliers (and to the optional interest form if you use it). They are not the final supplier partnership contract.

  • How can I contact Pocketa?

The Contact page explains the best routes for homeowners, suppliers, early users and general enquiries while the platform is being developed.

  • How can I share feedback on the product?

The feedback page is the best place to share what is working, what is confusing or what you would like to see next while the platform is in early release.
