How Pocketa is funded
Why the homeowner workspace is free, commissions and buying elsewhere.
Funding
How Pocketa is funded
Popular commercial questions first: why the workspace is free, what commissions mean and whether you must buy through a partner.
See the answerHow can Pocketa be free for homeowners?
Pocketa is free for homeowners. When you follow an eligible partner link and make a purchase, Pocketa may earn a commission from the retailer. The partner link does not add a Pocketa fee. You are always free to compare prices and buy elsewhere.
See the answerWhy is Pocketa free and how does it earn?
Pocketa is free for homeowners through retailer partnerships. When you follow an eligible partner link and make a purchase, Pocketa may earn a commission. The partner link does not add a Pocketa fee. Partners cannot pay for a more prominent slot. Partner options are first limited to retailers relevant to the product or project stage. Commercial terms may influence the order of eligible partner options in some retailer carousels. You can compare prices and buy elsewhere.
See the answerDo commissions affect rankings or guarantee the price I pay?
Partners cannot pay for a more prominent slot, and a listing is not an endorsement. Partner options are first limited to retailers relevant to the product or project stage. Commercial terms may influence the order of that eligible set in some retailer carousels. You stay free to compare prices and buy elsewhere. The partner link does not add a Pocketa fee. Partnerships help keep the product free for homeowners. Compare the price and terms shown by the seller before you commit.
NoCan a partner pay to appear higher on Pocketa?
Partners cannot pay for a more prominent slot, and a listing is not an endorsement. Partner options are first limited to retailers relevant to the product or project stage. Commercial terms may influence the order of that eligible set in some retailer carousels. You stay free to compare prices and buy elsewhere.
NoMust I buy through a Pocketa partner?
No. You remain free to compare and buy elsewhere. Partner routes are optional. Buying outside Pocketa does not remove your ability to keep a project record.
NoDoes Pocketa take payment for kitchen products?
No. Payment stays with the retailer or supplier. Pocketa helps organise planning and sourcing records and surfaces partner discounts; it does not offer in-app checkout for homeowner product purchases.
See the answerCan suppliers work with Pocketa?
Supplier applications are open for eligible curated and quote-led businesses. Applications are reviewed manually and do not guarantee approval, listing, traffic or sales. Major national retailer relationships use a separate enquiry route.

First steps when you are planning ahead, already mid-renovation, replacing a scattered spreadsheet, or buying the kitchen from several places.
See the answerWhat is Pocketa?
Pocketa is a free UK kitchen renovation workspace that cuts management stress and helps you save with partner discounts. Signed-in homeowners can create a project record, use an editable checklist, claim live partner savings, browse published catalogue categories, save options, use supported supplier routes and keep outside purchases visible. Planned spending and recorded purchases stay separate on Spending.
See the answerWho is Pocketa for?
Pocketa is for homeowners who want one clear project for a kitchen renovation, especially when quotes, deliveries and decisions feel scattered, and who want partner discounts nearby when they buy. That includes people who started work and then realised there were more moving parts than they expected. You do not need to have been fully organised in advance.
See the answerWhat problem does Pocketa solve?
Kitchen renovations become stressful when information, quotes, tasks and decisions live across messages, notes, spreadsheets and emails, often after the project is already moving. Pocketa helps bring that into one clearer workspace so the next step is easier to see.
See the answerIs Pocketa live today?
Your signed-in Pocketa workspace is ready for UK kitchen renovation projects. You can create projects, manage getting the kitchen in, claim partner savings, save products where listed, continue on supplier websites or request quotes where offered, record purchases made elsewhere and keep notes in one workspace. Each project uses Overview, Manage your renovation, Finishing touches, Saved products, Spending and Activity in the sidebar. Partner directory and Current offers sit under Sourcing & deals. The catalogue is still growing. Payment stays with the retailer or supplier. Signed-in homeowners can use projects, checklists and sourcing. There is no supplier self-service portal.
See the answerWhat can I use without an account?
You can read public guides and Market Watch notes, compare tools, preview checklist structure and run quick or detailed kitchen cost estimates. A saved project, editable checklist and private sourcing records require a workspace account.
YesCan I use Pocketa after my renovation has started?
Yes. You can create a project midway through, mark work already settled, add existing outside purchases and focus on the decisions still open. You do not need to have used Pocketa from day one.
YesI feel overwhelmed by my kitchen renovation. Can I still start?
Yes. Many people join mid-project when quotes, tracking links and decisions already feel scattered. Mark what is sorted, keep what still needs attention visible, and use the free cost estimator if you want a UK planning range before you deepen the record.
Confirm elsewhereQuotes are in email, ideas are in screenshots, and the builder is waiting. What should I do?
That is a logistical breakdown, not a design-app problem. Put the live threads in one Pocketa project: checklist statuses, saved options, outside purchases, delivery notes and planned spending beside recorded purchases. Confirm orders and dates with your supplier and fitter. Pocketa organises the homeowner record; it does not replace trades or take payment.
See the answerCan Pocketa replace a kitchen renovation spreadsheet?
For many homeowners, yes for checklist, product list, outside purchases, delivery notes and planned spending beside recorded purchases. Keep a spreadsheet if you need bespoke formulas, bulk export or custom reporting. Receipt and warranty details are text notes today, not a file vault.
See the answerI am buying a UK kitchen from several places. Do I need a general project app?
Not if you want a kitchen-ready record rather than a blank board. Pocketa is a free UK kitchen renovation workspace for homeowners who buy cabinets, appliances, worktops and fittings from more than one shop. It keeps the checklist, mixed-supplier products, outside purchases, deliveries and spending in one project, so you do not have to design that system in a general project app first. Examples of general project apps include Airtable, Notion, ClickUp or Trello. Those remain useful when several people need custom boards, files and automation. Other tools exist too.
See the answerWhat happens when I start a project?
You answer setup questions about stage, work type, layout change risk, product areas and what is already sorted. Those answers can shape a starter checklist. You can refine statuses, add manual lines and keep sourcing and spending records beside the same project.
NoDo I need every product decision before I create a project?
No. Setup is orientation, not a locked specification. Record what you know, leave open areas marked for review, and update the project as quotes and choices arrive.
See the answerWhere should I begin if I want the full workspace?
Use Start my free project to create a free homeowner account and project, or sign in if you already have one. Completing setup unlocks a checklist you can edit as the kitchen develops.
See the answerHow does Pocketa compare with retailer planners, spreadsheets or general project apps?
Retailer planners are often strongest for designing and quoting one retailer's range. Spreadsheets are flexible for custom calculations. General project apps are flexible when you want to design boards and automations yourself. Pocketa focuses on one homeowner project record across checklist, mixed sourcing and planned-versus-recorded spending, free for homeowners at current publication terms. See the comparison page for dated public-source notes.
FAQ topic
Checklist and planning
Workspace tabs, checklist editing, order of work and mid-project catch-up.
Checklist
Checklist and planning
How the signed-in workspace, checklist and planner help you keep the renovation moving.
See the answerHow is the signed-in workspace organised?
The sidebar is Overview, Projects, Help and Account, plus the kitchen surfaces once a project exists: Manage your renovation, Finishing touches, Saved products, Spending and Activity. Setup and Sourcing stay available from Overview cards when you need them. Partner directory and Current offers sit under Sourcing and deals. Create a new project from Projects rather than from the sidebar.
See the answerHow customisable is the project checklist?
Pocketa generates an editable starter checklist shaped by setup answers. You can add manual lines, update notes and statuses, and mark irrelevant lines as not needed. Later setup changes can show proposed additions, soft removals and reordering for you to accept or dismiss. Pocketa does not describe this as unrestricted permanent deletion of every record.
YesCan Pocketa help with kitchen renovation order of work?
Yes, as planning orientation. Manage your renovation and the planner help you map stages, categories and trade-related prompts so questions such as when electrics or plastering sit in the programme are easier to discuss with your fitter. Pocketa does not set a certified trade sequence for your property.
NoDoes Pocketa create the exact trade sequence for my property?
No. The planner and checklist provide stages, prompts and selected advisory relationships. They do not create a certified programme or replace sequencing decisions made by your fitter and qualified trades for the actual site.
NoDoes Pocketa draw 3D kitchen layouts?
No. Pocketa does not provide a 3D CAD, spatial design or room-rendering tool. It helps organise scope, checklist lines, sourcing records and planned or recorded costs alongside specialist design tools.
NoDoes Pocketa replace a builder or project manager?
No. Pocketa is not a replacement for qualified tradespeople, surveyors, designers, architects or project managers. It is a support platform that helps homeowners organise their renovation journey and make more informed decisions.
Confirm elsewhereWhat should I realistically expect from Pocketa?
A clearer project record, practical checklists and helpful sourcing context, not a guarantee of the lowest price, perfect finish at every budget, or professional advice on site. Confirm measurements, suitability and regulated work with the right people before you order.
See the answerWhat is the difference between Project Library and Kitchen Market Watch?
Project Library holds evergreen planning guides organised by renovation stage. Kitchen Market Watch publishes shorter, dated commentary on UK kitchen-market topics with sources. Use Library for lasting process help and Market Watch for timely context.
FAQ topic
Products and suppliers
Mixed sourcing, bought elsewhere, catalogue honesty and supplier routes.
Products
Products and suppliers
Mixed sourcing, catalogue honesty, bought-elsewhere records and supplier quote routes.
YesCan I use Pocketa if I buy everything independently?
Yes. Pocketa supports mixed sourcing. You can save a private external link while browsing and log bought-elsewhere records from retailers, local merchants, fabricators or trades on relevant checklist lines. Pocketa does not place those orders.
See the answerWhat does bought elsewhere mean?
Buy wherever suits your project and keep the purchase in Pocketa. Log a purchase on your project checklist for supplier, link, delivery, status, and text notes for receipts or warranties. It appears on your overview too. While browsing sourcing you can also save a private link to your project; that quick save is separate and is not a full checklist record. Confirm fit and delivery with your supplier before you buy.
Confirm elsewhereCan I upload receipts, warranties or plans?
Not as general file uploads. Bought-elsewhere records can hold supplier, link, price, delivery status and text notes for receipt or warranty references. Pocketa does not offer a general file vault for receipt files, certificates, plans or photo libraries.
Confirm elsewhereAre catalogue prices, stock and delivery dates live?
No. Published catalogue listings are snapshots for comparison and organisation. Confirm current price, stock, lead time, delivery, returns and suitability with the supplier before buying.
See the answerCan I request supplier quotes through Pocketa?
Where a published supplier or catalogue route supports it, signed-in users can submit a quote or consultation request. Coverage varies. A request is not an accepted quote, order or guarantee of supplier response.
NoWill Pocketa verify that a product fits or work is compliant?
No. Confirm measurements, compatibility, services, delivery details and installation requirements with the relevant supplier, fitter or qualified professional. Pocketa does not certify gas, electrical, plumbing, structural or building-control work.
FAQ topic
Costs and estimator
Planning ranges, planned spending versus recorded purchases.
Costs
Costs and estimator
What cost figures mean, how the free estimator works and how planned spending differs from recorded purchases.
See the answerWhere should I begin if I only want a cost sense-check?
Start with the free kitchen cost estimator. Quick and detailed checks do not require an account. You can carry a reviewed detailed result into project setup later if you want a lasting record.
See the answerDoes Pocketa offer a kitchen cost estimator?
Pocketa's free kitchen cost estimator gives UK planning ranges through quick and detailed checks. No card is required. It is an indicative starting range, not a supplier quote. Open the kitchen cost estimator for quick and detailed checks, or use your answers to start project setup.
YesIs the kitchen cost estimator free?
Yes. The quick and detailed kitchen cost checks are free for UK homeowners, with no card required. Homeowner workspace access is also free if you turn the estimate into a Pocketa project. Ranges are indicative planning figures, not a supplier quote.
YesCan I use the cost estimator without signing in?
Yes. The quick and detailed kitchen cost checks are free for UK homeowners, with no card required. Homeowner workspace access is also free if you turn the estimate into a Pocketa project. Ranges are indicative planning figures, not a supplier quote.
NoAre kitchen cost estimator ranges guaranteed contract costs?
No. The estimator gives indicative UK planning ranges based on Pocketa assumptions and cost bands. It is not a binding supplier or construction quote. Property conditions, measurements, specification and the quotes you receive can change the result.
See the answerHow accurate is the kitchen cost estimator?
It is designed for UK planning ranges based on typical assumptions, not site-specific precision. Accuracy improves when you add detail about size, scope, finish level and services, but supplier quotes and on-site checks remain essential before you commit.
See the answerWhat costs can the estimator include?
Depending on your answers, the range may cover units, worktops, appliances, fitting, flooring, splashback, lighting, electrics, plumbing, decorating, waste removal, contingency and structural or building works where relevant. Not every category applies to every kitchen.
Confirm elsewhereWill the estimator work for a kitchen extension or structural changes?
It can flag when structural or building works may apply and include an allowance where selected, but extension and structural costs vary widely. Treat those lines as orientation and confirm with a qualified professional and your builder before relying on them for spending decisions.
See the answerWhat is the difference between planned spending and recorded purchases?
Planned spending lines are editable allowances and notes. Recorded purchases are confirmed purchase records. Pocketa keeps those totals separate so they are not added into one misleading figure.
NoDoes the cost organiser automatically move money between categories?
No. Pocketa keeps planned amounts, quote lines, contingency and recorded purchases visible as separate records. It does not automatically reallocate a saving or overrun, and it is not accounting software.

Account
Account and data
Privacy, cookies, copies of your record, deletion, who can see your workspace and accessibility.
See the answerDoes Pocketa sell my personal or project data?
Pocketa does not sell personal information as a business model. Data is used to run and improve the service, keep project records available, respond to forms and support optional analytics only after you accept. Analytics is not loaded on sign-in pages or inside the signed-in workspace. Leaving the cookie banner without choosing does not count as consent. Review or change your choice through Cookie settings and the cookie policy.
See the answerHow do cookies and analytics work?
Essential cookies support security and basic site function. Non-essential analytics, including Google Analytics where enabled through Google Tag Manager, load on production marketing pages only after you accept the current consent version. They do not load on sign-in pages or inside the signed-in workspace. You can change your choice later through Cookie settings.
See the answerWhen can a supplier receive my details?
A private project is not a public supplier profile. Relevant contact, project or requirement information may be sent to a supplier when you explicitly submit a supported quote, consultation, sample or related enquiry route. The route should explain what is being submitted before you continue.
Confirm elsewhereCan other people see my workspace?
Your workspace is tied to your account. Pocketa does not offer public project share links today. You can copy a shop link from a saved product so someone else can buy at the retailer — that is a shopping link, not access to your project. Staff access and service-provider processing remain governed by operational need and the privacy policy rather than an absolute claim that nobody else can ever process the data.
YesCan I ask Pocketa to erase my project or personal data?
Yes. Use Contact and say your message is about privacy or project deletion. Deletion requests are verified and processed in line with legal and operational retention requirements. Workspace planning records can be removed after processing, while some commercial records may be retained for limited legal or commercial periods explained in the privacy policy.
YesCan I get a copy of my Pocketa project record?
Yes. Signed-in homeowners can ask from Account, or use Contact and choose data privacy / statutory rights. We prepare a readable copy after verifying it is your account. Instant download is not in the app yet. Incomplete packs are not sent as complete downloads. Keep quotes, invoices and warranties with the seller as well. Pocketa organises the project record; it is not a file vault.
YesShould I keep quotes and receipts outside Pocketa too?
Yes. Pocketa organises the project: checklist, products, deliveries and spending. It does not store invoice or warranty files. Keep those with the seller and in your own records. You can add text notes on bought-elsewhere items for where a receipt or warranty is kept. Ask for a copy of your Pocketa data any time through Contact if you want a readable snapshot of what is in the workspace.
See the answerIs Pocketa accessible?
Pocketa aims for readable structure, keyboard use and visible focus on public and signed-in surfaces, and continues to improve incrementally. The accessibility statement describes current practices and known gaps without claiming a full WCAG conformance level.
