Terms of use

These terms govern use of the Pocketa public website, homeowner workspace, planning tools, forms and supported supplier routes. They set the boundary between Pocketa's information and organisation service, decisions you make, and contracts you enter with third parties.

The sign-up form asks you to acknowledge these terms before account creation. If you do not agree, do not create or continue using an account. Separate terms apply to supplier applications and are accepted through the relevant application process.

Plain-English summary

Pocketa helps you organise a UK kitchen renovation. You stay responsible for decisions, measurements and contracts with suppliers or trades. Pocketa is not the seller or installer. Partner links may earn Pocketa a commission without adding a Pocketa fee to your purchase. Your statutory consumer rights are not reduced by this summary; the numbered sections below govern.

1. Operator, scope and related terms

The Pocketa service at www.pocketa.co.uk provides UK kitchen-renovation planning and organisation. Pocketa is the trading name of Pocketa Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17397332). References to Pocketa, we, us or our mean Pocketa Limited trading as Pocketa. Business address: see Legal and business information. Business email: hello@pocketa.co.uk. Formal correspondence and documents may be sent to that address. References to you mean the person using the public site, creating an account or submitting a form.

These terms apply to homeowner accounts and general use. Supplier applications are also governed by the Supplier application terms. The Privacy policy explains personal-data processing, and the Cookie and browser storage policy explains device storage and analytics choices.

2. Eligibility and account responsibility

You must provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and use the service lawfully. You are responsible for protecting account credentials, controlling access to your email account and telling Pocketa promptly if you believe an account or supplier link has been compromised.

A homeowner account is personal to the account holder and may be used to organise that person's household renovation projects. You must not sell, transfer, rent or share the account as a service to others. Businesses and suppliers must use the routes intended for them or obtain written permission for another use.

You must have legal capacity to accept these terms. Pocketa is aimed at householders and people planning or managing kitchen-renovation projects. You must have the authority and legal capacity required to enter into any agreement you make with a supplier. Pocketa does not enter into renovation or supply contracts on your behalf.

3. Permission to use Pocketa

While your account remains available and you comply with these terms, Pocketa gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to use the homeowner workspace for its intended planning and organisation purpose. Public guides may be read and shared through normal links for personal, non-commercial information use.

This permission does not transfer ownership of Pocketa software, designs, brands, editorial material, planning-band definitions, checklist templates or data structures. Statutory exceptions and rights that cannot lawfully be restricted remain unaffected.

4. Fair use and prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • Gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to an account, project, supplier route, token, database or administrative function
  • Share account credentials, impersonate another person, misrepresent authority or submit information you have no right to provide
  • Probe, bypass, disable or interfere with authentication, rate limits, access controls, consent checks or other security measures
  • Use automated requests, scripts, scraping or extraction in a way that overloads the service, evades controls or systematically reproduces protected Pocketa content, planning bands or product logic
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or copy protected service logic except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits and cannot be excluded
  • Upload malicious code, unlawful material or content that infringes another person's rights
  • Use Pocketa to send spam, make fraudulent requests, manipulate attribution or create false supplier, quote, sample or purchase records

Normal search-engine indexing, accessibility technology and proportionate personal use are not prohibited merely because they are automated. The boundary is unauthorised, harmful, evasive or systematically extractive use.

5. Workspace records and your content

You remain responsible for the project answers, notes, links, prices, files and other content you submit. You must have the right to provide that content and must not use workspace fields to store unlawful material or unnecessary sensitive personal information.

You give Pocketa a limited permission to host, copy, validate, transform and process submitted content only as needed to operate, secure and support the service, complete actions you request and meet legal obligations. This permission ends when the content is erased except for minimised records lawfully retained under the Privacy policy.

The workspace is an organisation record, not a general document vault, accounting ledger or guaranteed backup service. Keep independent copies of information needed for contracts, warranties, tax, insurance or legal claims.

6. Planning tools are not professional advice

Kitchen cost estimator outputs are indicative planning allowances generated from versioned Pocketa planning bands and the answers entered. They are not live quotes, valuations, promises of market price or evidence that a project can be completed within the displayed range.

Checklists are editable starting points. They do not certify the correct trade sequence, site readiness or legal compliance for a property. Product categories, suggestions, guide content and saved records do not amount to architectural, structural, engineering, gas, electrical, plumbing, financial, legal or other regulated professional advice.

Before ordering products or starting work, verify:

  • Room, cabinet, appliance, access-route and service dimensions
  • Product compatibility, stock, current prices, lead times, delivery and return terms
  • Installation sequence and site readiness with the people carrying out the work
  • Gas, electrical, plumbing, ventilation, fire, structural and building-control requirements where they apply
  • Permissions, leases, insurance conditions and any specialist professional advice relevant to the property

Use a suitably qualified person where the work, risk or law requires one. Read the Responsibility boundaries for the practical version of this distinction.

7. Suppliers, external purchases and third parties

Pocketa is not a kitchen manufacturer, merchant, installer, designer, surveyor or building contractor. Saving an external link, recording a trade-yard quote, continuing to a retailer website or discovering a business through Pocketa does not make Pocketa a party to your contract with that third party.

A supplier, retailer or trade remains responsible for its own descriptions, advice, measurements, designs, prices, availability, payment terms, fulfilment, delivery, installation, guarantees, returns and legal obligations. Your purchase or services contract is with that party unless Pocketa expressly states otherwise in writing.

Pocketa may receive a commission or fee on selected routes. That commercial relationship does not make Pocketa the seller or the supplier's agent for your transaction. If a third-party contract fails, use that party's support, complaints and legal remedies. Nothing in these terms removes any responsibility Pocketa has for its own service under applicable law.

8. External websites and information

External links are provided for convenience or a route you choose to follow. Pocketa does not control third-party websites and does not guarantee that their content, prices, stock, security, accessibility or privacy practices remain accurate. Review the third party's current information and terms before acting.

9. Suspension, restriction and account closure

Pocketa may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected misuse, protect users or infrastructure, comply with law, enforce these terms or contain a security incident. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the restriction and provide a contact route. Urgent protective action may occur without advance notice.

Suspension does not authorise an undocumented instant wipe of project data. Project erasure and account closure follow the verified retention and review processes in the Privacy policy. Where the reviewed account-closure workflow is enabled, a recorded request from the account panel starts its 30-day cool-off. That optional cool-off does not delay assessment or response to a statutory UK data-protection rights request. Otherwise the account panel directs you to Contact for manual review.

10. Service availability and changes

Pocketa may add, remove or change features, planning bands, checklist templates, content and supplier routes. We may correct errors and make security or operational changes without advance notice. We do not promise that every feature will remain available or that access will be uninterrupted.

We will not present a material change to these legal terms as a silent product calculation update. The published terms will show their last-updated date, and active account holders may receive an appropriate in-product or email notice where a material change requires it.

11. Responsibility and limits

Pocketa is responsible for providing its own service with the care required by applicable law. We do not accept responsibility for losses caused by information you entered incorrectly, decisions made without required verification, third-party acts or omissions, or events outside our reasonable control, except where the law says otherwise.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of statutory consumer rights, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. No clause should be read as a claim of zero responsibility.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms and disputes concerning them are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but this does not remove mandatory consumer protections or any right a consumer has to bring proceedings in another court under applicable law.

If a concern relates to Pocketa, contact us first with enough information to investigate. A supplier or installer dispute should normally be raised with that business because Pocketa is not a party to the external contract.

13. Changes, severability and no waiver

Updated terms apply from the published effective date. If you do not agree to a material update, stop using the account and request closure. Continued account use after an effective update may indicate acceptance where applicable law permits.

If a court finds part of these terms unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a term does not waive the right to enforce it later.

14. Contact

For questions about these terms or a Pocketa service concern, use Contact. Do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
