Checklist example

See how a kitchen renovation checklist could be structured

This example shows the kind of checklist structure Pocketa is preparing for early users. The final checklist should be editable and shaped by each project.

Pocketa is in early build. This example shows the kind of structure we are preparing, not a live generated checklist.

How to read this example

This is not a universal list for every kitchen. Categories and lines should be edited as you learn more. Confirm measurements, suitability for your room and any specialist requirements with your fitter, your supplier or a qualified professional before purchase or installation.

Example checklist sections

Each card shows three example lines only. Your real project may need more, fewer or different lines.

  • Planning and project setup

    • Rough room sketch with dimensions to verify with your fitter
    • Project stage note so sequencing stays visible as things change
    • Landlord or building consent checks if they may apply to your property
  • Cabinets and doors

    • Finish samples shortlist to compare in daylight before you order
    • Internal storage preferences to discuss with your supplier
    • Hinge and handle style notes for your fitter to confirm compatibility
  • Worktops

    • Material comparison with templating lead time to plan around fitting
    • Joint positions and upstands to confirm before fabrication
    • Cut outs for sinks and hobs to check against appliance specs

    • Waste and trap type to confirm with your supplier or plumber
  • Lighting and electrical

    • Circuit locations as commonly considered before second fix
    • Switch positions to review on site with your electrician
    • Under cabinet lighting if used, including driver placement space
  • Flooring

    • Level and subfloor notes to check with your fitter
    • Threshold trims between rooms if levels may differ
    • Underfloor heating compatibility if that may apply in your room
  • Tiles and splashbacks

    • Grout colour idea alongside tile sample in your lighting
    • Adhesive type to confirm with your supplier for substrate and wet areas
    • Layout sketch for feature areas without implying a fixed pattern
  • Finishing and hardware

    • Handles or push to open preference to align with cabinet order
    • Silicones and small trims sometimes bought near the end of a job
    • Skirting return detail where cabinets meet existing decoration
  • Receipts and records

    • Purchase dates and supplier names for warranty lookups later
    • Warranty emails or PDFs stored with the relevant product line
    • Delivery photos if useful when boxes arrive before unpack day

Status examples

In a future checklist, short statuses may help you scan progress. Labels are examples only and may change as the product develops.

What you could add later

As the platform grows, you may be able to attach product links, prices, supplier notes, delivery dates, receipts and warranty details to checklist lines. None of that is implied as available on the public site today. The aim is a calmer record that stays with the project as decisions land.

Important checks

Fit, measurements, electrical work, gas work, plumbing, structure and compliance questions should be confirmed with the right person on your project. Pocketa does not replace those checks. If you are unsure, pause and ask your fitter or a qualified professional before you order or alter services.
