Personal data safety
Your project stays private unless you choose to share something
This is the plain-English version of how account, planning and sourcing information moves through Pocketa. Personal information is not sold as a business model, and suppliers do not gain default visibility into your workspace.
Some processing is still necessary to provide the service, support explicit supplier requests, meet retention duties and handle verified deletion safely.
Free for UK homeowners. No credit card required.
How information moves
Follow the information through the product
Each area explains what may be processed, why it is needed and what stays under your control.
01
Account and access
Identity information
What may be processed
Email address, account identifiers, authentication and security records, and profile details you choose to provide. Password credentials are handled by the authentication provider; Pocketa does not store readable passwords.
Practical purpose
Create and secure your account, confirm access, support password recovery, protect the service and send essential operational messages about the account or actions you request.
Good to know
Essential service messages may be required. Non-essential marketing follows the choices and lawful basis described in the privacy and cookie policies.
02
Planning records
Estimator, project and checklist
What may be processed
Setup answers, kitchen scope, checklist lines, notes, planned costs, recorded purchases, saved products and outside-purchase records that you create. Estimator answers are processed to calculate the result; imported or saved records become project content.
Practical purpose
Generate and maintain the project structure you asked for, keep decisions available across signed-in sessions and let you update the record as the renovation changes.
Good to know
Your workspace is not visible to suppliers by default and there are no public project share links today. You can copy a retailer shop link from a saved product to send to whoever will buy; that is not a view of your project. Hosting, authentication, email, security, analytics and authorised operational access still exist to run and support the service.
03
Sourcing routes
Links, quotes and supplier enquiries
What may be processed
Private sourcing links, bought-elsewhere records and the contact details, requirements, answers or limited files you explicitly submit through a supported quote, consultation, sample or supplier route.
Practical purpose
Keep your sourcing record organised or deliver the specific request you chose to make to the relevant supplier or partner.
Good to know
Submitting one supported request does not grant a supplier permanent access to your wider workspace history. Route-specific submission and retention rules are explained beside the relevant journey and in the privacy policy.
Your copy
Ask for a readable copy of the record in your account
Signed-in homeowners can request a copy from Account, or use Contact and choose data privacy / statutory rights. We prepare a readable pack after verifying it is your account. Instant download is not in the app yet. Incomplete packs are not sent as complete downloads.
Keep quotes, invoices and warranties with the seller as well. Pocketa organises the project record; it is not a file vault. You can add text notes on bought-elsewhere items for where a receipt or warranty is kept.
What a copy is for
A data copy is a snapshot of what Pocketa holds for your account: project planning, checklist, notes, saves and purchases, within the scope explained on Account. It is not a replacement for seller invoices, and it is not a general document vault.
Erasure and closure
How deletion works in practice
Deletion requests are verified and processed in line with legal and operational retention requirements. Project files are checked separately and retained evidence is minimised under defined rules.
- 01
Erase one project
Project erasure removes workspace content after ownership, dispute and storage checks. Where self-service erasure is not enabled, use Contact and request a verified manual review.
- 02
Close the whole account
Account closure is separate. Where the reviewed closure workflow is enabled, a recorded request begins a 30-day cool-off. That optional cool-off does not delay assessment or response to a statutory UK data-protection rights request. Otherwise Contact submits a manual request that must be assessed before that workflow can start.
- 03
Retain only what has a reason to remain
Deletion requests are verified and processed in line with legal and operational retention requirements. Minimised quote, consultation, sample, supplier-route, purchase and related commercial evidence may be retained for six years. Security, email and necessary audit records can follow different periods or legal holds.
Commercial independence
Partner revenue is separate from selling personal data
Pocketa is free for homeowners through retailer partnerships and curated supplier routes. That commercial model never ranks options by commission, and it does not turn homeowner records into a dataset for sale.
Formal policies remain the source of legal detail
This page explains principles. The Privacy policy covers data categories, processors, sharing, retention and rights. The Cookie policy covers analytics and consent choices.
